Program Information
Employment opportunities vary depending on the option
completed and include entry-level positions such as computer programmer;
database developer or manager; Web page designer, Web master and
Web site manager; and local and wide area network administrator.
 Network
Administration
The Network Administration option provides the concepts and
skills needed to design, setup, maintain and expand networked
systems. The curriculum provides specific training in Microsoft,
Cisco, and/or Nortel network systems.
IT Certification Tracks
Enrollment in any one of the IT degree options concurrently prepares
students to sit for the appropriate industry-recognized certification
exam. However, one does not need to be enrolled in one of the
IT degree options to enroll in one of the college's IT certificate
tracks.
The institution currently offers four certificate tracks that
prepare students to sit for the national certification exams.
They include:
A+*
Fundamentals
Cisco Networking Enhanced (CCNA)*^
Microsoft Networking Enhanced (MCSE)*^
* Students wishing to enroll in this
certificate track must have basic computer skills equivalent to
100 CIS Introduction to Computers.
^ Please contact us for information on the coursework and/or experience
required for the certificates.
Enrollment
Information
Enrollment in either the Information Technology degree program
or one of the IT certificate tracks requires admission to the
college. To enroll, the Admissions Office will need the following
information:
- A completed application* for admission.
- Your ACT scores.
- An official** copy of your high school or college transcripts,
if you have attended college elsewhere.
- Completion of the ASSET and/or COMPASS exam. (To be scheduled
after you have submitted your application for admission.)
* An application
may be obtained from the college's Web site.
** Official transcripts are sent directly from the sending institution
to the college's Admissions Office. They may not be mailed to
the student for delivery to the college.
