  I
have received, or plan to receive, a certificate in IT at the
college. How can I get an AAS degree, too?
You must take the college's general education courses and additional
core courses as specified for the AAS degree plan.
Must I take the course(s) listed as a prerequisite to the technical
courses?
To take a course in your area, you must either demonstrate a knowledge
of the prerequisite material or take the prerequisite course(s).
Do these courses transfer to a four-year university?
AAS degree programs are designed to prepare students for technical
employment within a two-year period of full-time study. Only the
general education courses are designed for transfer. Some four-year
colleges and universities accept some of the technical courses,
but degree applicability must be determined by the receiving institutions.
How many certificates can I earn?
Only one AAS degree may be earned, but you may receive a certificate
in as many areas as we offer.
 Can
I receive college credit for national certification exams I have
taken?
Yes. You can receive up to 24 credit hours for exams previously
passed.
Does the college offer national certification exams?
Yes, the college currently offers certification exams on campus. At the Assessment Center located in Room 110 of the Anderson Building, VUE testing for national certification exams are available.
