ATTENDANCE
POLICY: Prompt and regular attendance is expected. Attendance will be taken
each class period. Ten percent of your grade is based on attendance. The
attendance percentage will be prorated for up to five absences. Your absence
from class is no excuse for missed assignments or unpreparedness for tests, and
other classroom activities.
LATE/MAKE-UP
WORK POLICY: Late class work will be accepted with a penalty of ten percent the
class meeting after it is due. If a student is unable to take an exam as
scheduled, prior notice and an
acceptable reason must be given before the scheduled test time. Students who
are ill and not hospitalized must call
on the day of the exam prior to the ending time for the class. Otherwise, a
zero will be earned on that exam. The instructor will determine any
circumstance he or she feels constitutes an extreme situation.
WRITTEN
WORK POLICY: Any written assignment must be completed using a word processing
program. You will be penalized for incorrect spelling and improper grammar.
Five to ten points will be deducted for each error found in an assignment. Your
answers should be in complete sentences and your thoughts should be organized.
Any work submitted as your own which is determined to be plagiarized will
receive a grade of zero.
WITHDRAWAL
POLICY: It is the policy of the instructor not
to allow students to drop the class after the midterm drop date unless they
have completed a plan for grade improvement with the instructor prior to that
date. Students who have not met this requirement will be required to
substantiate extreme circumstances. A grade of I (Incomplete) will be assigned
only under extreme circumstances. To be eligible for this grade the student
must have completed the majority of the coursework in a satisfactory manner. It
is the policy of the instructor not to allow more than three months to complete
the remaining course assignments.
SPECIAL
EXAM POLICY: A student who is enrolled at WKCTC may receive credit for OST 210
by scoring a grade of 70% or better on a special examination.
